Introduction

This library belonging to the Mawanella Regional Council was started on 07.02.1998 according to the idea of the chairman Mr. Nimal Jayasinghe. The number of readers in this library is 1173, which is rated as a third grade public library. There are 7726 books belonging to various subject areas and the following facilities have been provided in the library for the convenience of the readers who come to use the library on a daily basis and to provide superior service to them.

Books are classified according to Div Decimal classification.
Books have been categorized by subject using colors for ease of identification.
Opportunity reserved for reader suggestions and allegations.
Growing number of books annually.
